Terrible record… around 3h20m tough and difficult but amazing race! the 1st half 1:29:57, then get slower. Pain チョウケイジンタイ and stopped 2 times… Failed to break BQ… At last I prioritized to enjoy the extreme cheering and get on board and go to Chicago safely by myself… So, My HP is remained ^^ Most terrible thing is failed to record all scene… Only the 1st 45min… Connection with mobile battery was something wrong… So disappointed.
I had a little energy left at the halfway point, 1:29:57 in the first half, but I soon ran out of steam and was a mess after 30km, with a total time of 3:20:47 (net time only).
It's certainly a difficult course, but I thought it was similar to the Tateyama Wakashio Marathon. If the legs aren't well-trained, they can't make up for lost speed on the climb by going downhill. I suffered a lot of ups and downs in the first half, and my pace of 4:15/km was probably too fast for my current running ability.
After 30km, I was completely out of shape. My ligament started to hurt, which was unusual, and I slowed down my pace drastically. I had to stop completely twice to stretch my buttocks. I avoided ガソク炎 by skipping practice during the preparation period, but I guess I skipped too much. This is what I paid for.
The level of the participants was high, and I was overtaken one after another, which was shocking. From then on, I received a lot of cheering voice (so much so that I had to use earplugs halfway through), and above all else, I prioritized arriving safely in Chicago, so even though I couldn't go any faster because of the pain, I tried to run with the energy I had left, without giving up.
There could be many reasons for this, but I think it all comes down to a lack of continuity in my training. There was almost no damage to my toes or anything else, so I think my choice of shoes was correct.
・Training was interrupted in February due to a long cough
・The two consecutive high-intensity sessions in March were too intense and I was unable to adapt, leaving my left hamstrings stiff
・The moderate intensity was also too intense and I gradually accumulated fatigue and was unable to adapt (I mistakenly thought I had gained running ability and could run when I was able to do it. I was just forcing myself to run)
・The stiffness in my left hamstrings continued until the final stage and I was unable to practice properly
・I chose international business class (of course it was comfortable, but the swaying, vibration and noise were the same, and I wonder if it was worth it in terms of cost-effectiveness. I would have been better off staying in economy class for one more night, which would have helped me to overcome travel fatigue and jet lag)
・I caught a cold due to poor cold weather forecast on the Fenway Park tour starting at 9am the day before (it wasn't that cold at 12°C, but the wind was strong. This was a poor forecast)
・Due to jet lag, I was unable to sleep well on the day (I was able to run with adrenaline, but I was far from fully recovered)
